CAFE

Today I had a meeting with the group from CAFE (College Access for Everyone), a group being started on grounds to teach College Prep and SAT classes in Charlottesville high school next semester.
It's going to be a lot of work writing the curriculum, but I'm looking forward to meeting the kids next semester and getting started. Finally, a sustainable service endeavor!

LDN

This summer, I will be traveling extensively. At least, more extensively than I ever have before. I'll be spending most of my time on trains, like in the picture above.
I will be in London for most of June and some of July taking a class, and then moving on to Scotland, Germany, France, and Ireland.
Moving Lips
Today in Exceptional Learners, we watched a video about Hearing Impairment.
One man, born deaf, signed that English was nothing more than "moving lips", and that ASL was an art.
It reminded me of one time when I tried to teach myself ASL using a dictionary, but only made it to "across". And it reminded me, as Dickens rolled in his grave, how much more English is than "moving lips".

Reading History
What book have you read most recently that was NOT assigned for this or another class?
